Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati, Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC), Department of Donor Services, is recruiting for full-time (100% FTE), Quality Assurance Assistant positions, to perform quality assurance review of donor services processes, including the review of post donation documents, complete appropriate reports and consignee notification. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities.

Essential Functions

Review post donation information received; collect donor information from past collections and determine blood products to be recalled based on SOPs and regulations.Perform review of daily Quality Control reports and critical supply logs, follow-up on discrepancies or incomplete documentation.Record daily activity and prepare monthly and annual reports; perform error analysis and make recommendations.Participate in corrective action and process improvements based on audit findings.Coordinate and participate in quality assurance projects; collect data for members of the management team.Perform data collection and records maintenance for unit. Work includes establish procedures for collection, entry, maintenance and storage; control distribution of records; coordinate or monitor scanning of records; review and correct information before entry.Gather manufacturer documents for release of critical supplies, tracking/trending of product defects, and notification to manufacturer of product defects.Oversee Assets, Calibration and Maintenance EtQ module for Donor Services. Work includes assigning equipment to specific operation and scheduling calibration and maintenance in collaboration with BME.Comply with standard operating policies and procedures, FDA regulations, AABB standards, and other regulatory agencies.Represent the blood center in a positive manner and act as liaison to other departments within Hoxworth.Perform related duties based on departmental need. Associate's Degree.Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.Required Experience

Two (2) years of relevant experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered
