Job Description Summary:

The Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity (

) is part of a global community of seven fellowship programs focused on improving equity. AFHE is based in the Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity (

) in the Milken Institute School of Public Health. The Mullan Institute focuses on health equity and has a robust research and education portfolio. AFHE falls under the education portfolio and is focused on the development of global leaders working in the health equity sphere.

The Institute Specialist I, Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity at Mullan Institute will report to the Program Director and will work with program leadership to strategically plan, implement, evaluate and revise current fellows programming.

Responsibilities include:

Current Fellow Program Management:

  • Develop and implement a project plan for onboarding new fellows and managing online learning experience throughout the fellowship year.
  • Develop and implement project plans for three annual current fellow convenings, delegate convening tasks to appropriate program staff team members, and manage convening project timeline.
  • Review fellow participation and performance, and respond to fellows’ individual needs, in collaboration with program leadership.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to review convening contracts and collaborate with on-the-ground facilitators and external consultants to execute event logistics.
  • Review convening strategy and planning with staff, and revise convening plan strategies based on program staff and leadership feedback.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to redesign approaches to current fellow mentorship and coaching.
  • Manage program coordinator’s administrative duties, including online learning platform management, live learning session facilitation, fellow participation and engagement tracking, and convening-related administrative duties.

Recruitment:

  • Supervise annual recruitment project plan and take responsibility for project implementation and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to recruit a global team of reviewers for the Selection Committee.
  • Identify gap areas for recruitment and work with communications lead to target outreach to address those gaps.

Communications & Outreach:

  • Oversee AFHE global recruitment campaign efforts.
  • Supervise the central point of contact for a global network of health professionals and leaders dedicated to health equity and for the fellowship community, managing internal and external correspondence.
  • Facilitate strategic partnerships to improve program messaging and visibility in target gap areas.
  • Lead community-building efforts to advance health equity.
  • Manage a team of global reviewers across multiple technology platforms, including Salesforce.

Evaluation, Data Collection & Salesforce Management:

  • Manage Salesforce interface, including data collection, storage, reports, and dashboards. Collaborate with Salesforce consultants to meet program needs.
  • Collaborate with the program team to improve program monitoring, evaluation, and analysis.
  • Evaluate online learning and convening feedback from the current cohort of fellows, and collaborate with program leadership to develop new systems and processes to improve the fellowship experience.
  • Analyze fellow participation data and session evaluations, and present analysis to faculty and leadership for each online learning module.
  • Assess feedback from program evaluations throughout the fellowship year to develop and implement tactics to improve the current fellow program experience.
  • Review application and selection data throughout the recruitment cycle to ensure equity in the review process and refine program processes and outreach strategies.
  • Analyze prior year’s recruitment data to identify gaps in recruitment efforts. Utilizing feedback in order to make recommendations for program improvement to leadership.

Program Development:

  • Support program leadership’s strategic planning and implementation efforts.
  • Co-lead development of a long-term partnership plan with Senior Fellow Lead.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with team members to support overall fellowship mission and vision, coordinating activities as appropriate.
  • Work with leadership to research and identify future convening locations and partnerships.
  • Work with leadership to review technology contracts and privacy documents.
  • Source new software and other technology to support program team efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline plus 5 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.

Hiring Range

$52,385.57 - $83,863.89
