JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

The HST Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Senior Director in supervising the Housing Support Techs. In addition, this position will assist with the functional operations and light administrative functions of the residential program and facility. These duties include monthly quality assurance checks of maintenance, health and safety, and security of facilities assigned. Also, the HST Supervisor is responsible for scheduling staff to insure required coverage. Should absences or vacancies occur, the Supervisor will schedule coverage or provide coverage personally. In the case of position vacancies, the Supervisor will screen applicants in first phase of interview process, and report outcome of these interviews to the Program Manager. 

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE FOR THIS ROLE
The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma, or GED. Two years post-secondary education preferred. Two years prior experience in a residential facility (or other specialized knowledge and experience) and at least one-year supervisory experience required. Valid ID is required. Must have ability to be CPR certified, upon 30 days of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain operational control of the facility in the absence of case managers.
  2. Maintain chronological written records of events that occur during shift.
  3. Maintain client and visitor sign-in/sign out log.
  4. Insure facility cleanliness, maintenance, health and safety of the facility. Insures that HST staff monitor client duties/chores.
  5. Observe client behavior and report abnormal behavior to Supervisor.
  6. Make periodic rounds of facility and grounds and monitor clients and visitors.
  7. Monitor all clients and visitors activities.
  8. Insure fire and other safety measures are carried out and be familiar with basic functions of fire equipment, breaker panels and familiarize self with evacuation plans.
  9. Insure clients and visitors compliance with Volunteers of America policies.
  10. Insure that HST staff follow all rules
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
  12. Maintain a current CPR and First Aid certificate
  13. Insure that staff/clients have sufficient supplies.
  14. Deals with incidents of low performance HST staff as outlined in agency policy and procedure.
