OverviewAt Intuit, the Mid-Market team is on a mission to help ensure customers can grow with us as their business grows. We will disrupt the small business mid-market (Big Bet 5), by transforming QuickBooks from a self-serve, DIY accounting tool for small businesses, to a sales-led, done-for-you suite of tools to power growing businesses. Delivering a sophisticated product that customers love is critical to our success.As the Principal Designer on Business Intelligence, you will lead the strategic vision, and execution of this disruptive offering. These capabilities will give business leaders like the CEO and CFO a constant understanding of what's happening in their business and what actions to take to increase revenue and profitability. We are looking for a strategic designer with strong interaction design skills and familiarity with designing with data.What you'll bringBachelor's degree in Human Computer Interaction, graphic design, or other relevant field; Masters preferred; equivalent experience will be consideredFamiliarity with designing data and analytics experiences strongly preferred7+ years of experience in interaction design, product design or related field, preferably at a SaaS companyExpert knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with cross-functional teamsDeep knowledge of user experience methods, design principles and frameworks.Curiosity and commitment to testing new ideas and innovating to drive business resultsProven track record in setting a vision for great customer experiences, inspiring stakeholders to get behind the visionExemplary ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams through facilitative leadershipEffective communicator, presenter, and negotiatorHow you will leadStrategy: Apply strategic thinking to design and deliver innovative end-to-end user experiences that optimize among user needs, business goals, and technological realities across web & mobile platformsBe Bold: Create compelling visions and translate concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity, despite complexity of the systemLearn fast: Rapidly explore ideas and complex interactions through prototypes and test your hypothesis with users using a variety of methodologiesFacilitation: Lead cross-functional workshops that help to align the team on design vision and roadmapStorytelling: Effectively communicate design approach and demonstrate strong storytelling techniques to inspire the teamMentoring: Coaching and mentoring junior designers on the team in craft and development of key hard and soft skills
