Responsibilities
Recruit, develop, lead, and inspire a focused & scrappy engineering team around youHands-on, willing to write code and lead by exampleEnsure everything stays up and is able to improve performanceManage code reviews and releasesUnderstand which tech debt can accumulate and which needs to be burned and when — and communicate the reasons why to other stakeholdersShape the tech underpinning the product roadmap
An exceptional candidate will have:
A love of movies - regularly going to the movies, in theaters and wanting to talk about it and make the experience better
Skills to move into a CTO role - we are open to first time, hands-on CTOThe ability to see themselves as a problem-solverExperience working in an early-stage startup and familiarity with the ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities that comes along with thatA bias for actionExperience leading engineering teams at a hyper-growth startup. You’ve built for scale and built an engineering team from 1 → ???Patience. So much patience!Experience being business-minded & collaborative. Spent time working with others outside of Product & Engineering and understands the needs of the business to understand which trade-offs can and cannot be madeHumility & empathy. Mistakes are made (by you and others in the org), be open and honest about what happened and support teammates in moving forwardExperience working with AI/ML and experience working with blockchain technologiesStrong technology fundamentals and the ability to make high-impact decisions about long-term viability/scalability of technical solutions. 10+ years of proven professional experience working along the tech stack (backend, frontend, and mobile frameworks & database administration)Proven professional dev ops experience (Kubernetes, CI/CD)Proven professional experience with AWS and GCP
