Come join us!About the teamAs a backend software engineer on the Magic Visibility team, you will contribute across a wide range of technologies and systems to deliver new products that provide network visibility and insights to our customers. You will help build and grow a globally distributed network data collector and the pipeline that delivers, processes, and stores the massive stream of data. You will build backend services that analyze this network data and correlate it with a multitude of other data sources within Cloudflare. You will build APIs and integrations with other products such as DDoS mitigation, Magic Transit, and Magic Firewall to enable customers to take action on insights we surface. You will scale all of these technologies to enable access to these products to all Cloudflare customers.We’re looking for curious, empathetic engineers who are excited to work across the whole stack of technologies we use at Cloudflare to quickly deliver end-to-end solutions!Desirable skills, knowledge, and experienceExperience building, shipping, and supporting large-scale software applicationsExperience with message streaming and stream processing technologies, such as KafkaBackground in statistics, mathematical analysis, and data modelingKnowledge of SQL and common relational database systems such as PostgreSQLSystems-level programming experience, especially in Go or RustStrong ability to debug issues in complex systemsExcited by quickly delivering results that make a meaningful difference to customersMotivated to own solutions end-to-end, driving all stages of the design, development, and deployment processCreative, open-minded, collaborative problem solverFocus on clarity in written and verbal communicationCompensationCompensation may be adjusted depending on work location. There are multiple levels open on the team, both mid & senior level.For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $196,000 - $240,000For New York City, Washington, and California (excluding Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $187,000 - $229,000.For Colorado-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $168,000 - $206,000.EquityThis role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan.Cloudflare offers a complete package of benefits and programs to support you and your family.
