If you have a passion for rallying together to solve complex challenges, then come join our dynamic FSO team!The opportunityEY's FSO tax practice provides comprehensive and specialized tax assistance tailored to the unique needs of the asset management industry. You would join our tax professionals who are knowledgeable and experienced with varied and specialized facets of hedge fund, private equity fund and mutual fund taxation, including fund and organizational structuring, tax minimization planning, on-call advice, and tax compliance.Your key responsibilitiesAs a senior in our Wealth & Asset Management practice, you will be responsible for tax compliance and advisory work for clients. You would work with Managers through Partners on key client issues in domestic federal, international and state and local taxation with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives. You will be involved in tax compliance accounts for hedge funds, mutual funds and/or private equity funds.Skills and attributes for successSolid technical knowledge in the asset management tax areaAbility to analyze trading reports for tax character and book tax differences, such as wash sales, constructive sales, straddles, and other securities issues.Build impactful relationships with new and existing clients and maintain relationship with firm leadershipCreate a positive and trusting environment where team members know each other and feel a part of their teamAble to identify key tax technical issues and raise the appropriate questions before the work is sent for review to the partner or senior manager and consult when necessaryManaging multiple work assignments and deadlinesTo qualify for the role you must haveA Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of related work experience; or an advanced degree in tax or law and a minimum of 2 years of related work experienceCPA license or a licensed Attorney is required or the ability to achieve one of these certificationsA minimum of 2 years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in the financial services industryFamiliarity with the financial services industry gained through direct involvement with managed investment vehiclesBroad exposure to federal income taxation and exposure to state and local taxIdeally, you'll also haveExcellent teaming, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skillsDemonstrated skills in the asset management tax areaA thorough understanding of building client relationshipsWhat we look forHard working team player who is comfortable partnering with others as well as working independently. Open mindedness and creative solutions to the job every day.What we offerWe offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $90,200 to $148,700. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $108,300 to $168,900. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
