Position SummaryThe Lead Engineer Full Stack leads development teams in designing, testing, and implementing responsive web applications. In addition to leading and delegating work to other developers, the Lead Engineer will be responsible for standardization of documentation, code reviews, promoting industry standard best practices, performing detailed estimates and completing finalized solution designs/diagrams. The Lead Engineer role requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex technology related terminology and capabilities to business and non-technical professionals. The Lead Full Stack Engineer will maintain innovative, scalable solutions that provide value to JetBlue business initiatives.Develop, design, code, debug and document high traffic web applications and services running from cloud platforms.Provide technical leadership around the delivery of component designs and development.Evaluate new technologies and determine viability per solution.Analyze requirements and solution architecture and provide task specific estimates.Mentor junior engineers on coding practices and design decisions.Participate in code reviews to ensure high quality and consistent coding practices.Lead scrum teams in agile methodology, sprint planning, backlog grooming.Break down architecture solutions into tasks for team members.Collaborate closely with other IT teams globally from Product Management, Architecture, DevOps, Quality Assurance (QA), Infrastructure.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Experience and QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experienceFour (4) years of software engineering experience, building responsive web applications and Application Program Interfaces (APIs)Four (4) years of professional full stack development using NodeJs, Java, AngularFour (4) years of experience in agile practices in Scrum teamsExperience with Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Delivery (CD) pipeline and tools like Jenkins, SonarqubeExperience with developing software applications in at least one of the major Cloud platforms – Azure, GCP or AWSAvailable for moderate overnight travel (up to 15%)In possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United StatesAble to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response on short noticeMust pass a pre-employment drug testMust be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is locatedPreferred Experience and QualificationsThree (3) years of experience leading/mentoring team of software engineersExperience with high traffic, consumer-facing websitesExperience with Magnolia Content Management Systems (CMS) and Fastly Content Delivery Networks (CDN)Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)Knowledge of modern software architecture, microservices, micro-frontends, serverless applications and frameworksKeen interest in application security and knowledge of security best practicesKnowledge of DevOps practicesExperience with Yarn, Gradle, WebPack, CSSAzure certifications (Developer associate or Solutions Architect)Regular attendance and punctualityPotential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-noticeAble to maintain a professional appearanceMust be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and FunPromote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standardsIdentify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))Equipment:Computer and other office equipmentTraditional office environmentPhysical Effort:Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)Compensation:The base pay range for this position is between $105,600.00 and $150,400.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
