Amazon aims to be Earth's most customer-centric company, providing a wide range of products online.We're looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team of business intelligence engineers, business analysts, TPMs, and product managers. In this role, you will apply your analytical skills to analyze data and provide recommendations to help RME deliver excellent service to the Amazon network. You will work closely with PMs and BI Managers in one of the world's largest data warehouse environments, using historical information and real-time data to provide solutions. You will also have the opportunity to learn new systems, tools, and industry best practices to analyze big data and enhance our analytics. Join us in this dynamic environment, where you can work on challenging analytical problems, collaborate with other engineers, and deliver reporting at a massive scale.A day in the life:You build mid-size to large BI solutions or components of larger solutions. Your focus is at the team level, working on a major portion of existing or new BI artifacts (e.g., contributing to the team’s datamart) or owning a difficult report or analysis.You assume responsibility for the code, queries, reports and analyses you inherit or produce. You get your analyses and code reviewed. You test your code by validating outputs against source data, business logic, and related metrics.Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field- Experience with SQL- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools- Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)- Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)- Experience in the data/BI space- Experience with building and maintaining basic data artifacts (e.g. ETL, data models, queries)Preferred Qualifications:- Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design- Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis- 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experienceAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
