The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both Windows server administration and broader infrastructure management. This role involves managing and maintaining our Windows server environment and supporting various infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.Must have:
Windows Server Management, Cisco UCS Blade Server Management, VMWare ManagementHybrid work schedule: from home, and work on site. Onsite work location in Dulles VA.Must have excellent communication skills! (verbal and written)Key Responsibilities:Administer and maintain Windows servers, ensuring their performance, security, and reliability.Perform regular patching and updates to Windows servers to protect against vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security policies.Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.Manage backup and recovery solutions to safeguard data integrity.Administer and maintain Cisco UCS blade servers.Oversee Active Directory administration and ensure its optimal performance.Manage VMware vSphere (vCenter and ESXi) environments.Ensure proper functioning of SAN switch technology.Maintain documentation of server and infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff.Provide weekend and after-hours support as needed.Qualifications:8+ years
Windows server administration and patching.Proficiency in managing Windows Server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server 2016, 2019).5+ years VMware vSphere (vCenter and ESXi) administration.4+ years experience with SAN switch technology.Experience in managing enterprise storage and backup systems.4+ years managing Cisco UCS blade servers.Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other Windows server roles and features.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Relevant certifications (e.g.,
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or VCP-DCV ) are preferred.
