The Wireless Core Engineer is responsible for monitoring and supporting the service delivery of nationwide WIFI networks while applying a customer-centric approach to troubleshooting and resolving service-impacting issues in a high-performance environment. The Engineer will collaborate with internal and external organizations including Wireless Ops, NOC, Net Ops, Field Ops, Engineering, Product management, and 3rd parties to deliver a best-in-class Wireless Network experience for our customers.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFocus on customer's wireless service experience and improving network performance.Vigorously pursue high standards of wireless network performance and availability.Triage service impacts, determine root cause, and resolve impairments with urgency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third parties to proactively identify and resolve system, network, and customer impacts.Provide Tier2/Tier3 troubleshooting supporting a wireless service.Proficient in operating system environments, including Linux, Cisco IOS/NX-OS, UCS, Juniper JunOS, Ruckus VsZ, Brocade Fabric-OS, VMWare ESX-I, vSphere, Nokia SR-OS, Kubernetes (e.g., managing containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes).Provide timely incident assessments and root cause analysis (RCA) summaries.Create detailed documentation and contribute to the development of processes and procedures that improve service performance and team effectiveness.Contribute to network problem reports to develop insights into service performance.Perform service impact analyses and validate the success of maintenance activities.Proactively identify automation opportunities to improve support and network performance.Participate in and contribute to cross-functional knowledge transfer across engineers and between other vertical departments to advance skills and expertise and foster collaboration.Create detailed documentation and contribute to the development of processes and procedures.Perform other, collateral duties as requested by management.BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Telecommunications/Computer Science, Wireless Communications, or related field and/or equivalent work experience.Minimum five (5) years of engineering experience.Minimum four (4) years of Network Operations work experience.Minimum four (4) years of Wireless systems work experience.Minimum four (4) years of System Administration work experience.Must be able to work the following shift: Monday thru Friday from 9:00AM - 6:00PM.ADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONSAdvanced working knowledge in operating system environments, including Linux, Cisco IOS/NX-OS, UCS, Juniper JunOS, Ruckus VsZ, Brocade Fabric-OS, VMWare ESX-I, vSphere, Nokia SR-OS, Kubernetes (e.g., managing containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes).Demonstrable experience troubleshooting wireless network and infrastructure system impacts, with a keen ability to quickly assess and resolve wireless service impairments.Advanced knowledge of IP routing, routing protocols such as BGP, IS-IS, and OSPF, as well as enabling and troubleshooting protocols and platforms such as DHCP, DNS, and Wireless core network requirements.In-depth experience with AAA applications including RADIUS, RADSEC, TACACS+ and Diameter.Working knowledge of Splunk, Netscout (nG1, nBA, nSA, Ngenius Pulse), Wireshark, DataDog, and additional network monitoring, packet analysis, and analytics tools.Knowledge and use of development/automation tools, application frameworks, and testing tools such as Python, Shell, BASH, Ansible (e.g., automating deployment, configuration, and management tasks), YAML, XML.Experience with large wireless networks and MSO/Wireless Operator topologies.Advanced working knowledge of Data Networking Architectures, Models and Protocols (OSI 7-Layer Model, TCP/IP, Optical Networking, UDP, including specific expertise aligned with Wireless core network requirements).Advanced working knowledge with the following systems Nokia AAA, Nokia 7750, Cisco UCS, Ruckus vSZ/SCG, Brocade ICX, Juniper SRX, Cisco WLC, Cisco Prime, Cisco Nexus/ASR.Advanced knowledge of industry specifications and standards (some examples are RFC, IEEE, ANSI, Fiber, DOCSIS, HFC plant, etc.).PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSNetwork Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, CWNA.VCP-DCV or comparable VMware certification.AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or comparable cloud-based certification.Docker Certified Associate (DCA).COMPENSATIONThe base pay for this position generally is between

$78,900.00 to $139,500.00 .
