Formulated for a variety of skin types and needs with high performance ingredients, it’s a daily routine that nourishes your skin barrier over time.OverviewSupport Sr R&D Manager and SVP of R&D in research, formulation, and cross-functional team projectsIndependently work on formulation projects based on product briefs provided by Product Development teamMake batches of formulation projectsPrepare and log samples for submissionCreate formula revisions based on feedback from testing teamAdjust batches as needed to meet formula specification requirementsMaintain clear and accurate records of formulations, procedures, observations and resultsCalculate appropriate specification ranges and create CofAs for formulasConduct stability testing and keep accurate recordsOrder raw material samples and maintain raw material storage roomRequest raw material documentation from vendors and maintain documents organized in shared folderMaintain formulation softwarePrepare bulk to be sent out to third party testing laboratories as neededValidate other chemist’s formulasContribute to routine laboratory housekeeping and day-to-day operations of the laboratorySupervise scale up batches at Contract Manufacturers, providing instructions and recommendations as neededCommunicate with PD, Operations, Quality, and Regulatory teams as neededAssist other lab staff as neededQualifications:This position requires 5+ years experience working as a formulation/bench chemist in a personal care formulation laboratory with a proven track record of stable and scalable formulation design abilityExperience formulating OTC products is requiredMust have experience using mixers, homogenizers, viscometers, and pH metersBSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalentStrong knowledge of the functionality of raw materials used in personal care formulationsKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.) or Google WorkspaceExperience maintaining a formulation software or database required (formula breakdown and entry of raw materials, including CAS, INCI, and cost information)Must be highly organized and able to independently manage multiple priority projectsMust have a high attention to detail and proficient in accurate record keepingCritical thinking and strong independent problem solving skillsAgile and comfortable working in fast paced environmentMust have strong communication skills and ability to explain technical information to a non-technical audienceWilling to travel to contract manufacturer sites and supervise scale up batches as neededThe annual salary for this position is between

$115,000 - $125,000 , depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
