This career-growth minded opportunity offers exciting projects with leading-edge technology and innovation as well as competitive salaries and benefits.Electrical Power Systems Studies Engineer - Ashburn, VA or any City near a major airport!This challenging role will involve partnering with engineering and design staff to develop power studies for projects focused on critical power systems for new data centers and expansions in the hyperscale/colocation markets. The candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution System design and installation, working closely with organizational leadership to complete Power Systems Studies.Responsibilities:Autonomous in day-to-day work with high-level instruction on projects or assignmentsExecute and lead design teams and coordinate activities of other personnel as neededMentor engineers and assist with training and developmentLead Power Systems Studies for mission critical data center projectsIndependently perform Power System StudiesEvaluate equipment capabilities, ratings, and conditionsLead proposal development, training/mentoring, and development of standardsConduct Power Systems Studies and produce reports including breaker settings tables, TCC’s, and arc flash labelsAnalyze current and future system load to ensure power delivery without overloading componentsEvaluate potential fault conditions and ensure equipment ratings are not exceededStudy the settings of protective devices to ensure they coordinate correctlyConduct studies to determine potential arc flash hazards and recommend safety practicesEvaluate the power system's ability to maintain synchronism after disturbancesDevelop proposals including project scope, schedule, and budgetManage project design team time effectivelyIdentify potential project scope changes and develop strategies to minimize impactQA/QC peer reviews for projectsOptimize workflow and deliverables by developing templates and standardsRequirements:8-15 years of Electrical Engineering experienceBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similarLicensed PE/EIT a plusAdvanced knowledge of electrical topologies related to mission critical facilitiesExperience designing electrical power systems for complex data centersExperience with protective devices and their functionsUnderstanding of various power system equipment ratings and conditionsSubject Matter Expert of industry and safety standards related to power systemsUnderstanding of connecting new generation or loads to existing systemsProficiency in power system simulation software (ETAP, PSS/E, SKM, Easy Power)MS Office Suite proficiencySkilled at reviewing design drawings and equipment submittalsConduct code analysis to meet requirementsClient-facing experience as primary point of contact on projectsAbility to work independently and prioritize effectivelyEffective communication skills, both oral and writtenProactive, resourceful, and a multitaskerExceptional organizational skills with attention to detailExperience in the Military is a plusMinimal Travel: 10-20%Submittal Instructions:Please apply directly by clicking the link below or forward your resume to: px8y76tu3ecqcazy166ss1d4ee@crelate.netAfter applying, if you have further questions, you may call 973-895-5200 and ask for Iggy.
