Job Description - HSCPC Respiratory Therapist II - Full Time (240000PR)ABOUT THE HSC HEALTH CARE SYSTEMThe HSC Health Care System is a nonprofit organization combining the resources of a care coordination plan; pediatric specialty hospital, home health agency, and parent foundation to offer a comprehensive approach to caring for individuals with disabilities.POSITION SUMMARYThe Registered Respiratory Therapist possesses sufficient training and experience to perform independent professional respiratory care diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, clinical evaluation of care including the establishment of therapeutic objectives and the review of care. The final authority, judgment, and clinical decision-making are the responsibility of a physician.QualificationsMinimum EducationAssociate's Degree (Required) OrBachelor's Degree (Preferred)Required Skills/KnowledgeDemonstration of proficient skills for ventilator management required.Clinical evaluation skills required.Strong communication skills required.Ability to handle stressful situations.Good time management skills required.Active member of the AARC, and AARC state affiliation preferred.Required Licenses and CertificationsMust meet DC licensure requirements. (Required)Registered (R.R.T.) by the NBRC. (Required)BLS certification. (Required)PALS certification. (Required)Job FunctionsEssential job duties:Operate various types of mechanical ventilators and administer medical gas therapy as needed.Administers respiratory therapy inhaled medications and monitors physiological responses to therapy.Evaluate the effects of respiratory therapy treatments by observing and noting patient progress.Educate patients and their families about their conditions and teach appropriate disease management techniques.Transports mechanically ventilated patients within and outside the organization.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending continuing education workshops.Documents patient care services received in the Electronic Medical Record.Inspect, clean, test, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment.Other job duties:May perform other duties in addition to those outlined in this job description.Physical RequirementsLight Work: Lifting 25 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs.Travel RequirementsNonePrimary Location : District of Columbia-WashingtonWork Locations : Rehab and Specialized Care, 1731 Bunker Hill Road NE, Washington 20017Job : Allied HealthOrganization : HSC Pediatric CenterPosition Status : R (Regular) - FT - Full-TimeShift : DayJob Posting : Mar 7, 2024, 2:57:30 PMFull-Time Salary Range : 59155.2 - 98571.2
