Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) North Sector, in partnership with the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry is seeking a qualified

full-time Anatomical Pathologist with Hematopathology, or a General Pathologist . The successful applicant may also be considered for appointment with the University of Alberta’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.This position may consist of involvement and interaction with different APL laboratory sites in Edmonton and Northern Alberta. The Department of Lab Medicine & Pathology, with 100+ pathologists, functions as a Center of Excellence.The successful candidate will provide medical reporting and consultation on Surgical and hematopathology related cases. Clinical duties will include medical oversight for technologists, regulatory issues, quality assurance, hemovigilance, and occurrence management.Minimum qualifications include:MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta with certification in Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology or General Pathology with Hematopathology fellowship by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the American Board of Pathology.A proven track record of collegiality and collaborative practice is required.Current Canadian Medical Protective Association (or equivalent) coverage.The ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment is a must.Candidates must be able to demonstrate:Effective communication, skills in quality assurance, operational efficiency, and appropriateness of care.Ability to work in a dynamic, changing environment that allows for delivery of quality service.Ability to balance service and quality imperative in a resource-sensitive environment.Ability to work collaboratively, building trust in working relationships, and being an overall team player.Starting remuneration is commensurate with the level of fellowship training and experience, ranging from $353,874.00 to $411,650.00.
