The
Research Technician
- in a temporary/trainee position - will participate in a mentoring and research training program through an NIH/NIA-funded training grant to encourage underserved undergraduates to go on to careers in Aging Biology research. Placements for research experiences will be at GUMC, the GU Department of Biology, and the School of Health.An active mentoring program will be initiated and students will engage with near peer mentors as well as other relevant training faculty. They will receive lab bench training, basic statistics, and data analysis. This position is one of nine opportunities for underserved undergraduates from HBCUs.Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting directly to the assigned lab director and grant faculty, the
Research Technician
will be part of a research team that addresses the biology of aging. This individual will communicate and work with other investigators, a project manager, and research assistants.This position has been designated as
On-Campus . Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed to meet the evolving needs of the University. Such review may necessitate a change to a position's mode of work designation.Requirements and Qualifications
Undergraduate studentDemonstrated track record of interest in researchExceptional skills in organization and communicationPay rate is $21 per hour for 8 weeks.Submission Guidelines
