is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Aviation service team in Fort Worth or Dallas, Texas. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.Our ideal candidate will have 3+ years of diverse airfield design experience and a willingness to perform a variety of tasks supporting various project types and project managers.This position gives you the chance to work with an energetic aviation staff on projects such as airport planning, airfield layout and design, safety plans, airfield civil design and construction projects, facilities design and infrastructure, and environmental studies. Westwood's Aviation group has a diversified range of projects requiring the preparation of civil engineering and FAA planning reports, studies, and plans for large complex projects in a timely manner to produce solutions for our client's success.Duties and Responsibilities
Work with a team in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects of various size and complexity.Prepare plan documents and supporting design calculations.Prepare detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.Assist project managers and other staff in design oversight, coordination, and other tasks during the proposal, design, and construction phases.Assist in cost estimating, permitting, client relations, and other duties required to deliver a quality product for our clients in a timely manner.Collaborate with other project managers to scope and execute deliverables on multiple projects.Create and maintain successful client relationships while building new ones.Some project assignments may include construction observation duties.Mentor, train, and/or supervise the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel.Ensure division, regional, and company values, policies, and practices are consistently followed.Lead by example - display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.Required Skills
Working knowledge of aviation planning, programming, design, and construction is a plus.Preferred candidate will have working experience with FAA Advisory Circulars and understanding of Bureau of Aeronautics policies and procedures.Construction and estimating experience for public infrastructure projects is a plus.Outgoing, friendly, and approachable.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet project deadlines.Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficient in Autodesk Civil3D and Microsoft Office applications.Proficient in applying ADA/PROWAG criteria in public infrastructure design.Competent technical skills required to complete engineering tasks.Ability to delegate assignments and determine methods and procedures.Must have a valid driver's license.Required Experience
BS in Civil Engineering.Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in Texas (or capable of obtaining within 6 months).3+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering preferred.About Westwood Professional Services, Inc. (Westwood)
