Registered Dietitian II , your role will be split between inpatient and outpatient duties. Your primary responsibilities will be to provide nutrition care for all phases of transplant. The

Registered Dietitian II

assesses nutrition status, establishes nutrition diagnosis(es), develops intervention strategies and monitors/evaluates nutrition care plans in inpatient and/or outpatient settings. Performs duties in support of, and in compliance with, performance improvement plans, and with requirements of regulatory, accrediting, and licensing agencies. Educates patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members about the effectiveness of therapeutic diets and nutrition support regimens to improve/maintain nutritional status and establish optimal outcomes.Essential Job FunctionsAs part of the heart transplant and abdominal pediatric transplant teams, participate in the evaluation and care of patients throughout the phases of care (pre-transplant, inpatient, post-transplant).Under general direction, instruct, assist in the training, and check the work of less experienced staff.Establish individual plans of care for nutrition therapy based on results of the comprehensive nutritional assessment, including immediate, intermediate, and long term goals of therapy.Educate patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members about the effectiveness of therapeutic diets and nutrition support regimens to improve/maintain nutritional status and establish optimal outcomes.Tailor feeding formulations for disease-specific constraints and clinical status changes that may affect tolerance and nutrient utilization.Authorize (with approval of a physician) changes to formulas based on clinical assessment of the patient.Instruct patients and families on modified diets when indicated.Perform other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsMS degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or other relevant major, or BS/BA in Nutrition, Dietetics or other relevant major with completion of didactic program in dietetics if necessary AND Board specialty certification (e.g. Certified Clinical Transplant Dietitian, Certified Nutrition Support Clinician, Certified Specialist in Oncology, Certified Specialist in Renal) relevant to position (or obtain within 6 months of hire).Successful completion of program, dietetic internship, or other experience approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Dietetic Education.3 or more years of clinical experience.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with patients and staff from diverse cultural, educational, and ethnic backgrounds.Computer literacy (minimum Outlook, Word, Excel, Epic).Member of the American Dietetic Association and relevant practice group(s) preferred.Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation.Preferred QualificationsExperience as a Registered Dietitian in a Transplant Setting.Position DetailsJob Type/FTE: 1.0 FTE, Full Time.Shift: Days, 8am-5pm, 8-Hour Shifts.Unit/Department: Transplant Services.CBA Code: Non-Union.Why Join Us
