The HA4 Surgery Scheduler Lead serves as coordinator for all surgery scheduling at the expert level. The position will have primary duties and responsibilities to: ensure smooth flow of surgical authorizations; oversee data entry for the surgery authorization in EPIC as needed and coordinate the date of surgery with patient after receiving all pertinent medical clearances/authorization. This position works closely with our surgeons, NPs, PAs and internal departments to ensure that all required information has been received and that it is in EPIC as needed prior to surgery. This position is responsible for facilitating the processing of authorizations, if needed, for post-op DME/therapy when scheduling the surgery. Incumbents may travel with the surgeons to multiple UCSD facilities to assist with surgery scheduling needs while in the clinic. This position provides cross-coverage to other ortho-specialties as needed. The HA4 Surgery Scheduler Lead will serve as a point of contact to assist the surgery scheduling team with day-to-day operations, including managing workflow, process improvement, patient experience issues, communicating with clinical teams for coverage and assignments, and ensuring EPIC in-basket messages are completed promptly. HA4 will also manage surgery scheduler coverage with the supervisor to ensure all duties are covered.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Four (4) years of related scheduling experience in a large, complex hospital setting, with demonstrated experience in a lead and/or trainer capacity.Medical terminology training and/or certificate.Experience and demonstrated expertise with RIS and Epic systems.Superb customer service skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Able to work effectively as a lead in a team environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1 year of Orthopedic experience.SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.Pay Transparency ActAnnual Full Pay Range: $63,016 - $78,384 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)Hourly Equivalent: $30.18 - $37.54Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
