Job Purpose:

As a Senior Interior Engineer, you will be joining a highly motivated team of automotive engineers dedicated to bringing quality products to market on time, within budget and with exceptional quality.

You will work with internal design engineering, supplier quality, program management and purchasing teams and the chosen external suppliers to ensure a smooth transition from design to physical product. Working closely with the SQE department you will be responsible for the continual ramp, stabilization, and optimization of the interior trim components. Through tool trials, gamma build, pre-production builds, testing, and launch you will ensure that manufacturing, component and assembly concerns are identified, captured, and have appropriate corrective plans actioned in accordance with the severity of the concern raised. You will be instrumental in the timely resolution of any concerns and the distribution of information to the correct departments.

Responsibilities (80s of the Position)

Engineer, develop and execute interior systems that comply with ECE / FMVSS regulations.

Work through the product cycle with technical input early in development by collaborating with design / styling and Engineering teams.

Participate in the iterative process with all stakeholders to deliver the optimal balance of form, function, performance, and cost.

Implement processes and material selections to achieve cutting edge interiors.

Complete and release interior components, sub-system, and detail designs, utilizing a mix of in-house design and supplier engineering where required. Complete engineering change request and appropriate documentation (including drawings).

Collaborate with key interior system and plastic component suppliers and support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Manufacturing Engineering and Procurement groups to ensure interior system manufacturing and assembly feasibility and serviceability.

Required Experience

Bachelor's of Science in an engineering discipline.

5+ years of experience in automotive engineering.

3+ years of first-hand interior experience.

Experience with Catia 3DX.

Preferred Experience
