About the Position:Responsible for production and underwriting of a book of multiline treaty business. Underlying business is focused on the Regional and Super Regional insurance companies writing a mix of personal lines and commercial package business. This will involve increasing responsibility over time and taking ownership of assigned relationships.Responsible for working and collaborating with colleagues and supporting departmental goals.Conduct data analyses of historic internal and external data to inform underwriting strategy and appetite.Conduct extensive reviews and analyses of treaty reinsurance opportunities, including underwriting audits, cedant visits and industry conferences.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and reinsurance brokers to cultivate continuous flow of treaty reinsurance opportunities.Work in close collaboration with the actuarial, finance and claims teams to analyze and structure reinsurance programs.Travel as required to meet with clients and brokers, conduct client reviews, and attend industry conferences.Coordinate with department manager on the development and execution of the production and sales process including planning, marketing, operating routines, and portfolio monitoring.Negotiate with brokers on new and renewal business and involve senior management in the process as needed.Qualifications

About you:Strong interpersonal skillsAn analytical/inquisitive mindset with strong technical skills, able to make quantitative and qualitative assessments of riskAbility to produce and work with system-generated reports.Comfort in work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Good verbal and written communication skills.A willingness to share one’s point of view and take ownership.Ability to prioritize and multi-task.Strong work ethic and a desire to succeed.Unquestionable professional integrity.Education / Further Requirements:A college or university degree is required.CPCU, ARE or other industry designations are preferred.Minimum 3 years of experience in underwriting roles in the insurance/reinsurance industry and/or in the reinsurance brokerage sector.Working knowledge of actuarial / catastrophe modeling concepts.Basic understanding of policy forms and pricing schemes. The individual should also understand the role and impact of claims, actuarial, accounting, and finance in the underwriting process.Strong Excel and data analytics skills.
