The Mammography Technologist I performs technical activities associated with screening mammography procedures to obtain high quality images of the breasts and serves as an integral part of providing an exceptional patient care experience.Schedule:
M - F / 7a - 6p / Floats between Southpark, McDowellEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Operate mammographic and other imaging equipment/devices in accordance with organizational protocolsPosition patients, using immobilization when necessaryEvaluate radiographs for image quality, adjusting position, density, or contrast and obtaining additional images as neededExplain screening procedures to patientsPrepare exam rooms and equipment for studies, ensuring cleanliness and adequate stock/inventory of clinical suppliesObtain, verify, and document all pertinent information for patient visits, including patient clinical history and prior imagingIdentify care requirements relative to each patient’s age-specific needsUse radiation safety measures and protective devices to comply with government regulations and ensure the safety of patients and staffAssist with onboarding and training new Mammography Technician I’sOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Education/Licensing/Certification:Graduate of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic TechnologyARRT certification in radiographyARRT advanced certification in mammography must be obtained within 1 year of hireBLS CPR certificationExperience (years and type):1-3 years of Mammography experience preferredDiagnostic Mammography Training experience a plusKnowledge and Skills:Computer literateAbility to read and interpret medical reportsAnatomic knowledge of breast tissue pattern and related structures as well as breast pathology and treatment of breast pathologyKnowledge of radiographic technique and positioningExcellent communication skillsExcellent customer service, both internal and externalExcellent time management and organizational skillsTravel Required (% of time):
