Minimum of 2 years of experience in an OptometristResponsibilities
Diagnose and treat visual and ocular issues through physical examinations and advanced techniques.Detect and manage neuromuscular impairments and binocular function anomalies.Prescribe corrective lenses, vision training, and medications for visual disorders.Perform minor surgical procedures like foreign body removal, corneal debridement, and suture removal.Utilize topical and oral ophthalmic medicines to manage ocular pathology and trauma.Provide emergency care and manage ocular pathology using laboratory and radiology services.Conduct mandated screenings for diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma.Act as a point of referral for complex cases and advise on ocular conditions and testing procedures.Coordinate medical eye care with other physicians and manage referrals for external services.Stay proficient with new biomedical devices and equipment to ensure high standard care.Provide specialized services in low vision, contact lenses, and care for special needs patients.Deliver eye care services in various settings, including homes, schools, and clinics.
