DescriptionCarelon’s Product Platforms and Strategy team is looking to hire a
Director of UX Design and Research.
This People Leader will manage and develop a team of UX researchers and designers responsible for integrating user-centric principles and processes in our Solution and Product design to deliver exceptional experiences for our internal staff users (nurses, physicians, call center intake, admin support) and our external users (Providers, Health Plans clients, members).
This position will work in a hybrid way from any US Elevance Health corporate location. [Internal title: Director of Systems Support & Programs]How you will make an impact:Leads a team of junior and senior UX designers and researchers working on a suite of clinical solutions.Oversees all user research and design activities across the organization.Defines vision and strategy for UX and socializes that with key stakeholders in the organization to educate and integrate user-centric strategies into the end-to-end product lifecycle.Collaborates closely with cross-functional leaders from IT, product, operations, vendors and other stakeholders.Manages backlog of work for team and sets priorities based on enterprise goals, obtains alignment on delivery dates and scope with key stakeholders and ensures timely execution and risk management.Ensures design deliverables are high quality, align to style guides and adhere to best practice UX principles.Defines methodologies, standards and best practices for user research and UX design and operationalizes them within team.Provides leadership in driving innovation in the design team and promotes a design-thinking mindset throughout the organization. Stays up to date on latest design trends, best practices, tools/methodologies.Cultivates a culture of cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement and learning in the team.Oversees the delivery of system and soft-skill training and documentation of processes and procedures.Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates the performance of direct reports.Minimum Requirements:Requires a BA/BS in a related field and minimum of 9 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.Preferred skills and experiences:Strong training and experience in User Experience, UX design, user research, product design, Voice of the Customer (VOC), Journey mapping.Management experience leading teams of UX designers and researchers.Experience working in a highly-matrixed organization.Experience in integrating UX principles, design thinking mindset into an organization.Strong experience in Product and Platform Development environment.Experience with UX tools such as Axure, Figma, Balsamiq, Adobe XD and Optimal Workshop.UX with healthcare products such as Benefits Management, UM, PA, Digital Front Doors/Provider Front Doors, mobile apps; With users such as providers, health plans, and members.Salary and Benefits:For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary range for this specific position is $131,840 to $237,312.In addition to your salary, Elevance Health offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).Who We Are:Elevance Health is a health company dedicated to improving lives and communities – and making healthcare simpler.
