WSP is currently initiating a search for a

Senior Manager, Project Accounting

to join our team based out of Dallas, Austin, or Houston, TX. Other locations may be considered. This role requires an experienced supervisor-level senior project accountant and finance professional performing in the role of district project accounting manager or as a very senior Project Accountant with a large degree of complexity and/or as a subject matter expert.Your ImpactManage and analyze the collection, recording, and allocation of project costs and revenue, ensuring accurate project profit and loss calculations.Ensure complete understanding of all contract terms and conditions.Responsible for lifecycle project accounting for larger and/or multi-faceted complex projects, including developing and providing a schedule of values and billing approved subcontractor costs.Oversee project closeouts and direct project closeout activities as needed.Interpret and summarize contract data for complex projects and initiatives.Oversee the subcontracting process for projects within their portfolio.Monitor key financial indicators on projects, evaluating financial performance and identifying potential problems.Provide recommendations regarding the potential write-off of any project-related billings that cannot be billed to or collected from clients.Supervise, train and mentor project accountants within District Level responsibility.Oversee the preparation and submittal of government reports and formal audit responses related to projects.Meet with staff to review workload, assign new project work, and assess skill levels.Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources.Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.Who You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or closely-related discipline (or demonstrated proven equivalent experience).10+ years of relevant post-education experience in corporate project accounting.Highly proficient knowledge of project accounting principles and practices.Familiarity with Oracle.Strong ability to make technical computations and calculations involving accounting principles.Demonstrated ability to coordinate with various stakeholders and understand complex contract requirements.Strong self-leadership and interpersonal skills.Responsive and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.Advanced proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel.Mature critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s policies.Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree is preferred (but not required).About WSPWSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
