The Innovation & Technology Department (ITD)
is recruiting for highly experienced and motivated
Enterprise Systems Engineer (ESE) . The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance for our
Microsoft platforms
within several enterprise IT teams for various IT projects; assist in the development and implementation of standards and procedures in support of strategic plans; evaluate and make recommendations for improvements or enhancements to the IT architecture while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTThe Innovation and Technology Department is San Bernardino County's primary technology service provider entrusted with managing and safeguarding the County’s enterprise mission critical systems and infrastructure. It is our goal to empower the County through innovation and enterprise solutions that promote progress through technology and provide transparency and mobility that enable staff to focus on addressing and resolving issues toward the progress of the County’s mission, ensuring continued success.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTPre-Employment Process:
Candidates must successfully pass a background check and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment.Availability:
Incumbents may occasionally work evening and weekend hours. Some overtime, on-call support, or call back work may be required.Sponsorship:

EXPERIENCE:
Four years of full-time equivalent hands-on experience in an enterprise systems management environment architecting, engineering, and integrating solutions into Microsoft's M365 and Entra ID/Active Directory platforms.
Qualifying experience must include implementation of systems in an enterprise environment with the following technologies:Experience within an enterprise environment including applications, server, and network infrastructures.Experience with Microsoft platforms such as Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online, and Intune.Experience with high availability, business continuity, and disaster recovery.Experience with Cloud and SaaS platforms.-AND-
EDUCATION:
Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college-level courses in programming, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
Substitution: A completed Bachelor's Degree in programming, computer science, software engineering, or related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
Experience with identity management such as single sign on (SSO) for enterprise applications.Experience with Networking concepts such as NAT and Firewalls.
