Quality Champion - Architectural & Finishing

*This position can be based out of Cleveland, OH or Atlanta, GA*The Quality Champion – Architectural & Finishing will support the Ease of Doing Business with our customers through the continuous improvement of delivered product quality.Plant Support – Quality & ProcessTraining & coaching the implementation & disciplined use of core quality system elementsControl Plans, SpecificationsTest Methods & EvaluationQuarantine ProtocolsTrident, QDMS, SharePoint, & other QMS platforms, including basic system usage, detailed configuration, & data extractionEducation on the quality aspects of finished products in the eyes of our chain of customers, including applications & installationFacilitating the use of structured problem-solving tools to permanently address external customer complaint problems, and internal sources of variation that lead to manufacturing of defective productsAiding in data gathering & detailed analysis to inform the setting of priorities, flagging of variation, resolution of problems, or anything needed by sites to successfully address problems, sustainablyAct as a bridge between the various central functions (R&D, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales) and the sites, helping to translate high level objectives into tangible action plans to achieveDirect involvement in the investigation & resolution of major complaint issues, as neededAuditing & AssessmentPrimary leader of the organization & execution of Quality Step 0 activities, which assess the health of plant level quality systems & the usage thereof to prevent defective products from reaching customersPrimary leader of the organization & execution of Process Step 0 activities, which help flag operational & manufacturing issues that are the underlying drivers of variability that lead to the production of defectsSteward of change management systems, ensuring that risks related to major changes (raw material, machinery, process, personnel, policies, specifications, etc) are flagged, assessed, & mitigated to support successful execution at all levels)Learning & DevelopmentPrimary trainer for any new plant quality managers & related resourcesThrough the L&D team, create detailed & rationalized training curricula to shorten the time needed to gain competency in the performance of quality related rolesAdvanced ManufacturingLead efforts to evolve quality management approaches from mostly finished product/destructive testing to active monitoring & control of upstream process variablesPartner with other central functions in the selection, vetting, implementation, & integration of new sensing/measuring technologiesCreate/Update 3 Year Route Maps that identify the key systems work needed to continuously improveChampion the execution of the projects listed in the 3 year route mapsDirect the business overall Measurement Evolution strategy to secure the time & resources to adopt improved approaches & technologies that improve overall quality & process managementIs this job for you ?

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science (any discipline) requiredMasters Degree in Engineering or Science (any discipline) preferred10 Years Plant level Quality Manager or equivalent responsibility required5 Years Demonstrated success implementing & using Quality Systems & Continuous improvement tools required2 Years Working within a central corporate function, or with responsibility for supporting multiple plants requiredAbility to travel 50% to plant locations, HQ, or customer job sites to support the work above where virtual means aren’t sufficient.A little more about us
