The Role:

Generate Biomedicines is looking for an Associate Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join our growing Finance team! We are a rapidly growing company and are looking for an individual who will thrive in this fast-paced environment. This individual will lead budgeting and financial planning activities for Generate's Technical Operations and G&A functions. This individual will be working in a start-up environment and will be expected to help build templates, processes, and support systems builds for Tech Ops and G&A Financial Planning. In addition, this team member will be a key reviewer and approver of Tech Ops and G&A spend. The position is an in-person role in our Somerville, MA location and provides an opportunity for professional growth as Generate continues to mature and evolve.

Here's how you will contribute:

Responsible for co-creation and review of Generate's annual Tech Ops and G&A functional budgets, along with quarterly reforecasts

Act as a trusted finance business partner to senior Tech Ops and G&A stakeholders / budget owners

Create reporting and analytics that drive Tech Ops and G&A leaders to meet their corporate budget goals

Run monthly Budget-vs-Actuals meetings with Tech Ops and G&A leaders inclusive of headcount, opex, and capex, and quarterly BvA meetings with the budget owners and HR to review open headcount and recruiting plans

Contribute to annual LRP Forecasting efforts

Be the finance representative for C&OP process

Review and approve Purchase Order (or requisitions) >$10k for all Tech Ops and G&A departments

Collaborate with Accounting team to develop, execute and review the Tech Ops and G&A Accrual processes

50% of the role is focused on execution and delivery of accruals and reporting and 50% is focused on providing strategic input and acting in an advisory/SME relationship to Tech Ops and G&A leadership

The Ideal Candidate will have:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

Minimum of 8 years of FP&A experience, preferably with prior FP&A Tech Ops experience

Experience building collaborative relationships with both business stakeholders and accounting and finance team members

Professional in all job aspects, including verbal and written communications

Motivated, well organized and goal-oriented team player with ability to thrive in a fast-growing company

Preferred experience:

Experience with Net Suite

Prior experience with clinical trial accruals
