Responsible for ensuring donor suitability and performing whole blood collection procedures per applicable regulations, standards, policies and procedures.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):Performs routine procedures using equipment available and according to manufacturer and regulatory guidelines. Performs quality control and equipment maintenance as required by the manufacturer and SOP.Determines the eligibility and suitability of blood donors and documents findings during health history screening according to standard operating procedures.Performs whole blood collection procedures according to standard operating procedures and performance expectations.Exhibits exceptional customer service at all times.Completes and actively participates in all required training within designated time frames.Demonstrates teamwork, flexibility and dependability to create a collaborative and engaged working environment to support business needs. Participation in occasional overnights may be requested on an as-needed basis.Attends department meetings, Employee Forums, and other mandatory meetings, and in-services unless working a scheduled shift or on pre-approved time off.Completes competency evaluations/exams as directed.Responsible for routinely checking email and mailboxes for pertinent communication.Demonstrates professional communication with co-workers, leadership and community members.Responsible for timely review and submission of documentation including but not limited to: time cards, receipts, credit card reconciliation, and deviation management follow-up.JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:High School education or equivalency required. EMT, Paramedic, LPN, C.N.A. or M.A. experience a plus.Previous phlebotomy experience and medical terminology preferred.Spanish speaking preferred.Some customer service experience preferred.Reliable transportation for this position is required along with a current valid driver’s license.Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills in a team environment.Observation and performance of repetitive tasks.Accurate documentation with emphasis on detail.Utilizing resource materials and utilizing mentors, supervisors and training staff.Assessment of donor suitability based on established criteria.Employee may occasionally be required to lift objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.BENEFITS AND PERKS:We take care of our team — from competitive wages and valuable training to comprehensive benefits packages.
