tip sheet .Up to $25,000 Sign On BonusInpatient UrologyThe Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) delivers medical care to a wide variety of patients. The APRN examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. May prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests. Advises patients about continuing care.Responsibilities include:Performing and documenting complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.Functioning independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for patients.Ordering and interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs.Prescribing appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.Implementing interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability.Assisting with the provision of care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.Monitoring the effectiveness of interventions.Facilitating the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g., admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.Facilitating staff, patient, and family decision-making by providing educational tools.Adhering to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguarding University assets.CORE QUALIFICATIONSEducation:

Master’s degree in Nursing (Acute Care - preferred)Certification and Licensing:

Valid State of Florida APRN License; Acute Care Certification preferredExperience:

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience; Urology experience preferredKnowledge, Skills and Attitudes:Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission, and more.Patient safety is a top priority.
