MS.Summary:
The Senior Electrical Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager for the Hyperscale Data Center vertical. She/he works within the Engineering Department to design, develop, and document electrical designs within the scope of products manufactured by the Data Center team. This position will be responsible for the development and transfer of technology including but not limited to documentation of products that span across Climate Solution Regions (Americas, EMEA, and Asia). This position is based at our facility in Grenada, Mississippi and is primarily onsite, with some flexibility for a hybrid work schedule.Duties and Responsibilities:Design and maintain proprietary electrical design systems for data center cooling products.Create electrical wiring schematics, panel/terminal layout drawings, and wire loom documentation.Participate in design meetings and communicate with the project coordinator, design team members, and application engineers.Coordinate the panel-build and line wiring for prototype and production units with internal or external employees.Consider all aspects of product operation in the design of an electrical/control system, including product compliance, enhancements, and safety-related issues.Coordinate with project engineers, project coordinators, plant engineers, operations personnel, and component/equipment suppliers.Liaise with project leadership and mechanical engineering personnel to create structured product configurable super BOMs for placement of selected electrical and control parts.Instruct, explain, and lead the design group relating to the controls and electrical design of the product.Coordinate aspects of a given project including project scheduling, purchasing components, evaluating new products, and maintaining a project design file.Enhance skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and external seminars.Stay abreast of new developments in electrical design and apply that knowledge towards the technical enhancement of Modine machinery and processes.Job Specifications or Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline is required.5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.Knowledge and application of applicable electrical codes; NEC, UL (UL1995, UL60335-2-40, UL508A), IEC, and CE.UL508A Panel Build experience preferred.Obtain/maintain UL508A MTR Certification.Experience in electrical design of data center cooling equipment preferred.Some experience/knowledge of PLC controllers, RS-232/RS-485 interface, and Modbus Protocol preferred.Well versed in MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.Modine is an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcomes all qualified applicants!
