Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a

Lead Server

at our Woodland Hills community.

As a Lead Server you will have the opportunity to connect with, and positively impact the lives of, our residents daily! You will provide a top-notch dining experience for our residents and their families. You will be responsible for helping prepare food, serve, and assist residents that need help eating their meals. Additionally, you’ll assist with all catering services, room service, special party needs, and marketing functions. You will work alongside the Dining Services Director to ensure the best dining experience for our residents and create a pleasant and sanitary dining area.

As a Lead Server, working with the Dining Services Director,

you will impact the lives of our residents by:

Supporting all catering, room service, special party needs, marketing functions, etc.

Creating dining room schedules and ensuring there is enough wait staff for shifts, at the direction of the Dining Services Director.

Ensuring that all dining room staff fully understand the daily specials, desserts, and daily soups.

Clearing, sanitizing, and setting tables, removing garbage from the kitchen, and cleaning trash containers.

Cleaning work areas, dining room floor, tables, and chairs after each meal and occasionally after special events.

Assisting in controlling food costs when possible.

Training server staff in the standard operating procedures of Cedarhurst Senior Living, including sanitation and safety protocols.

Completing daily checklists of duties for the kitchen and dining room, following cleaning schedules.

Participating in all required cleaning duties as scheduled.

Providing direction on side work assignments to the serving staff.

Remaining flexible and having the ability to work weekends when necessary.

To become a Lead Server,

you will need:

A High School diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years of previous experience.

Basic knowledge of all Federal, State, and facility regulations regarding sanitation and infection control.

Respect for the principles of resident rights and confidentiality.

A general knowledge of laws and restrictions regarding senior living care.

A sense of professional curiosity and a desire to learn new things.

A high level of customer service, hospitality, curiosity, and friendliness towards all residents, visitors, employees, and the overall community.

The ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to work well with many interruptions.
