Great Wolf Lodge is in search of a skilled Data Engineer to enhance their data infrastructure and analytical capabilities. This role is pivotal in enabling data-driven decisions across the organization and involves close collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders. The Data Engineer will work on designing and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and data models to support various analytics and reporting solutions, including performance management and personalization. Reporting to the Director of Analytics and Data Science, this position collaborates with Technology, Finance, and Commercial Analytics teams to optimize data architecture and model design.In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ELT/ETL processes using tools like Matillion and dbt.Implement and manage data warehouse and database systems for efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis using Snowflake.Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors for project planning and data journey mapping.Gather and analyze business requirements to deliver data products supporting business needs.Design, test, and deploy data models, collection, and transformation components, determining the best transformation points.Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity by following data governance best practices.Troubleshoot and optimize existing data workflow processes.Collaborate with team members to enhance technical skills and foster a cooperative work environment.Stay updated on new data management methods and technologies to support internal capability development.This role requires you to have:2+ years' experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouses.Experience designing various data models.Proficiency with data infrastructure tools like AWS S3, Snowflake, Snowpipe, and Tableau Server.Expertise in SQL scripting and familiarity with various databases (SQL and NoSQL).Experience with data transformation tools such as Matillion, dbt, Informatica, or Talend.Advanced skills in programming/scripting languages like Python and/or R.Experience in root cause analysis for data and process improvements.Ability to build effective relationships across the business.Self-starter with high energy and initiative.Strong technical understanding of business intelligence and analytics technologies.
