ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS BY LEVEL:Monitors data communications network to ensure that network is available to all system users and resolves data communications problemsReceives telephone calls from users with data communications problems such as failure of data to be transmitted to another locationReviews procedures user followed to determine if specified steps were takenExplains user procedures necessary to transmit dataMonitors modems and display screens of terminals to mainframe computer to detect error messages that signal malfunction in communications software or hardwareEnters diagnostic commands into computer to determine nature of problem and reads codes on screen to diagnose problemAttaches diagnostic equipment to phone line to learn if line meets specificationReads technical reference manuals for communications hardware and software to learn cause of problemInstructs user to enter specified commands into computer to resolve problemCalls service technician for service when problem cannot be resolvedEnters operating commands into computer to restart programRecords number of daily data communications transactions and number of problems and actions takenUpdates documentation to record new equipment installed, new sites, and changes to computer configurationsInspects communications wires and cablesTrains staff and users to use equipmentCoordinates installation of or installs communications linesQualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:I-IV: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experienceITIL v4IAT-IIEducation/experience in one of the following: SQL, Windows Server 2016/2019, VMware, LinuxEXPERIENCE REQUIRED BY LEVEL:III: 7 - 12 YearsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:Sitting for long periodsStanding for long periodsAmbulate throughout an officeAmbulate between several buildingsStoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as requiredRepeatedly lift and carry weight up to 25 poundsTravel by land or air transportation 15%About Empower AI
