The Health Center Director will provide leadership and support to the staff and providers in the clinic. Is responsible for the daily operations of the health center ensuring patients' needs are met through the management of staff and process. Participates in the creation and implementation of strategies that facilitate growth, improve patient care, and promote and develop more efficient practices.

Provide leadership, training, and overall support to the clinic team.

Master problem solver.

Serves as the subject matter expert for all administrative tasks/responsibilities.

Maintains a working knowledge of the EHR, serves as an Athena superuser, responsible for creating users and developing provider schedules. Responsible for communicating updates and workflow changes. Participates in the Athena Governance Committee.

Model and encourage positivity, collaboration, excellence in customer service and represent North Star Health positively.

Responsible for recruitment and selection of staff.

Responsible for scheduling staff and maintaining appropriate staffing to ensure patients' needs are met. Manages team member time off to ensure support of health center operations.

Responsible for orientation of new staff to health center policies, processes and protocols including safety and emergency procedures.

Provides regular performance feedback to staff and completes an annual written performance evaluation to include opportunities for growth and development.

Serves as a mentor and supporter to staff. Develops, sets expectations and holds staff accountable, utilizing the disciplinary process when appropriate.

Plans and conducts monthly staff meetings ensuring communication of fiscal performance, quality and safety performance, patient satisfaction, organizational wide initiatives/updates, and process improvement.

Assists the COO with the development of the health center budget and monitors, manages and maintains accountability to the fiscal budget.

Responsible for reviewing and approving invoices, supply requisitions, staff reimbursements etc.

Participates in the development of operational workflows, policies and procedures and is responsible for implementing and ensuring adherence by health center staff.

Responsible for participating in quality improvement work including the NCQA PCMH initiative and maintaining certification for the health center.

Responsible for ensuring a safe and clean working environment. Responsible for managing and responding to safety events and participating in root cause analysis and process change.

Responsible for the coordination of all site maintenance including communication with contractors, vendors and other appropriate parties.

Maintains professional composure when met with difficult situations. Avoids personalization and attempts to deescalate. Seeks or helps when appropriate. Exhibit's ability to work under pressure and communicate information accurately.

Provides operational support to any/all locations, when necessary, based on the organization's needs. Serves as the backup for other health center directors.

Responsible for processing payroll and time and attendance for all health center team members.

Serves as a patient advocate and handles patient complaints in a timely manner with service recovery as the goal.

Is regularly present and participates in organizational meetings, committees, etc. (Key Managers, All Staff Meeting, Quality Improvement Collaborative etc.)

Adheres to policies and procedures during all activities. Serves as a role model to all staff and represents North Star Health’s mission, vision and values.

Requirements:Education

2-year college degree or equivalent education and/or experience

Experience

Experience in a healthcare related role or customer service role.

Experience in a lead or supervisory role.

Working knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.

Experience in primary care setting preferred.

Other Requirement(s)

Expected to be present on-site for most health center operational hours and available to the team as appropriate.
