Job Overview:
A law firm in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Defense Litigation Attorney with 2-4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, a solid academic background, and hands-on experience managing cases from inception through resolution. Experience in products liability, toxic tort, construction defect, employment, and/or general liability is preferred. Admission to the Missouri State Bar is required, and admission to the Illinois State Bar is a plus.Duties:Manage defense litigation cases from start to finish, including all aspects of case development and resolution.Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.Conduct legal research and prepare detailed legal analysis and strategy.Take and defend depositions, and handle all aspects of discovery.Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation.Collaborate with clients, experts, and colleagues to develop case strategies.Ensure compliance with deadlines and court procedures.Requirements:2-4 years of defense litigation experience.Hands-on experience managing cases from inception through resolution.Experience in products liability, toxic tort, construction defect, employment, and/or general liability.Must be admitted to practice in Missouri (MO).Admission to practice in Illinois (IL) is a plus.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the Missouri State Bar.Admission to the Illinois State Bar is a plus.Skills:Proficiency in drafting legal documents and managing litigation processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective deposition and trial skills.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.Benefits Offered:Competitive salary and benefits package.Flexible benefits for healthcare and dental.Life insurance and long and short-term disability coverage.401(k) plan with employer contributions.Mental health benefits and more.
