Properly performs all CT scan examinations appropriate to the age of the patient in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, consistent with departmental and professional standards and protocols.Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintains accurate patient records.Accurately completes all records, paperwork and billings and submits promptly.Positions and transfers patients appropriately and assists physicians with interventional exams.Promptly and properly completes exams, performs QC on images and appropriately sends exams to PACS for the physicians to review.Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory and in arranging the purchase of needed supplies.Assists with other job-related duties including urgent exam requests and scheduling.Under the direction of a Radiologist or Emergency Room Physician, performs CT exams using contrast media according to department policies and procedures.Will establish IV access for contrast injection according to department policies and procedures.Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:Required:Graduate of an accredited radiological program.Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or NMTCB certified in diagnostic CT.Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.Preferred:Experience/Skills:Required:Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with peers to produce optimum results.Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients and families.Preferred:Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.III.
