Job Description:The Northglenn FSED fosters a collaborative environmentwhere you can thrive, enjoy your work, and support your team. The MedicalLab Scientist (MLS) Lead at this facility plays a unique and specializedrole, serving as the subject matter expert for the freestanding lab. The MLSLead oversees Point-of-Care (POC) testing and waived and moderatecomplexity tests while also being responsible for scheduling, training,annual competencies, and regulatory paperwork. At the FSED, all lab techswork to the full extent of their scope and assist in the emergency departmentwhenever possible. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to,phlebotomy, IV placement, EKGs, rooming patients, and other tasksessential for ensuring the smooth operation of the ED.Job Specifics:Benefits Eligible: YesShift Details: DaysScope:As a Lab Technologist Lead you need to know how to:Lead the work of the associates in the department. Implement directivesrelated to adjusting staffing levels based on service needs and volumes. Actas a resource technologist and provide technical support. Perform technologistduties as required.Participate and lead quality and performance improvement initiatives. Teachnew and evolving testing and technologies. Coordinate orientation and trainingof new associates. Ensure staff competency through proper training techniquesand conduct quality audits.Participate in problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety,care and service. Support and promote effective working relations and workeffectively as part of a department/unit team and interdepartmentally tofacilitate that departments ability to meet its goals and objective.Collaborate with department leadership team to coordinate care with otherdepartments and promote the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.Participate in human resource functions. Participate in the interview processand provide feedback to leadership team on candidates. Provideeducation/training and performance feedback for associates in thedepartment. Participate in policy and procedure development. Present anddocument staff meetings as required.Monitor supply and equipment inventory. Notify leadership team of neededequipment repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance. Ensure compliancewith applicable regulatory guidelines and established departmental policiesand procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety,environmental and infection control standards.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or related scienceCurrent Medical Technologist (MT) certification through ASCPMinimum of four (4) years of hospital experience as a Medical Technologistor equivalentPhysical Requirements:Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to movefingers and hands.See and read computer monitors and documents.Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on acomputer, telephone, or other equipment.May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending,kneeling and reaching.Anticipated job posting close date:09/23/2024Location:Northglenn Healthcare PavilionWork City:NorthglennScheduled Weekly Hours:36The hourly range for this position is listed below.
