Senior Accountant

The Job/What You'll Do:AssetMark is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Accountant to join our Controllership team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role will work closely with other team members and assist with day-to-day operations of the Company's accounting function, including month-end close and reporting processes. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, technical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment independently and collaboratively. You will be an integral part of our growing team and must have excellent interpersonal and written communication, analytical, and organizational skills.This is a full-time position in our Concord, CA office with a hybrid work schedule.Responsibilities:Support the month-end close process for main operating entities, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statements.Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations related to compensation.Manage and maintain capitalized software and fixed assets subledger.Ensure procedures are well documented and completed timely for areas of responsibilities.Play a key role in optimizing and designing process improvements of the GL accounting system (NetSuite).Provide audit-supporting documentation for annual audits.Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures and internal controls.Ad hoc projects and analyses as directed by management.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.Excellent Excel skills, fluent with complex formulas.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and adhere to deadlines in a dynamic and process-oriented environment.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Strong sense of ownership and willingness to tackle challenges in a continuously changing environment.Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (with emphasis in Accounting).Minimum of 4+ years of general ledger accounting experience in a complex ERP environment.Experience with full cycle accounting close and preparation of financial statements.Experience with capitalized software, fixed assets, and compensation.Active CPA or CPA candidate is preferred.Accounting experience in a publicly traded company.Big 4 experience is a plus.Experience with NetSuite is a plus.Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $90,000-$115,000. This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered.
