Position: Vice President of Technology

FLSA: Exempt (not eligible for overtime)

Pay Range: $150,000-$175,000

Schedule: This full-time position will preferably work from the Augustine Institute home office in St. Louis, MO.

Reporting to: Chief Technology Officer

Position Summary

The Augustine Institute seeks a driven Vice President of Technology to oversee and enhance our technology department to help more Catholics understand, live, and share their faith.

As Vice President of Technology, you’ll be a key leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology management within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology leadership, a strategic mindset, and a passion for leveraging technology to further the mission of the Augustine Institute.

Specific duties are listed below but may not be all-inclusive.

Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the goals and objectives of the Augustine Institute.

Collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities for technology innovation and optimization.

Provide strategic guidance on technology investments and initiatives.

Oversee operations of the IT department, ensuring the reliability and security of all systems and infrastructure.

Foster a culture of excellent customer service within the technology department, ensuring that the needs and expectations of internal stakeholders and end-users are consistently met and exceeded.

Lead the engineering and software development teams in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge technology solutions.

Drive innovation and continuous improvement in software development processes and practices.

Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software products and platforms.

Direct the data and analytics team in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to drive insights and decision-making across the organization.

Identify opportunities to leverage data and analytics to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Recruit, hire, and retain top talent for the technology organization.

Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to technology team members, fostering a culture of humility, collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.

Maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations while staying up to date of technological advancements and industry trends.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in managing IT operations, engineering, software development, and data/analytics functions.

Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to align technology initiatives with organizational objectives.

Deep technical expertise across a range of technologies and platforms, including network infrastructure, software development frameworks, and data analytics tools.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong ability to think creatively and strategically to identify then solve problems.

Background in systems implementation and technology project management, with demonstrable experience in technical project delivery.

Strong management, coaching, and team development skills.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changes in business scenarios, projects, and resources.

Exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
