Our dynamic and successful Traffic Operations Group is seeking a full-time Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our collaborative Traffic Engineering team to deliver exciting projects for state DOTs, Counties, and Cities. As an Entry Level Traffic Engineer, you would be responsible for the planning, operations, and management of dynamic transportation systems, including urban corridors, freeways, and transit systems. This position would be based in our Minneapolis, MN office.

Responsibilities:

Intersection control evaluations and traffic signal/roundabout justification reportsTraffic data collection and field observationsConduct technical analysis using traffic simulation and modeling programsConcept development and alternatives analysisCorridor signal timing and operationsMultimodal transportation safety evaluationsTravel demand modelingDynamic traffic assignment (DTA)Mine and evaluate big data for transportation analytics and assessing various transportation-related performance measuresTransportation Management Plans (TMPs), asset management, and benefit-cost analysis (BCA)Connected vehicle signal applicationsDevelop documentation to support analysis work and transportation studies

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and/or relevant degree; Master's degree a plusZero (0) to four (4) years of traffic or transportation engineering experienceStrong analytical skills and technical writing abilityExcellent interpersonal and public communication skillsAbility to thrive within a cooperative team atmospherePassion for emerging transportation technologies and trends, as well as multimodal transportation including car, pedestrian, bicycle, and transit modes a plusValid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record

Desired Qualifications:

Proficiency in several computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and experience with the following traffic engineering software a plus (Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, VISUM, RODEL, and HCS)
