Event Managers at Capital One are highly motivated Risk professionals with excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills. In this role, you will lead, support, and manage work within the Card Channels Event Management team, with a high level of exposure to senior leaders. You will partner with colleagues across legal, compliance, finance, Card Risk, and other lines of business to deliver results that have a direct impact on customer experience.Responsibilities:Set strategic vision for the Event team, which includes Events, Issues, scoping Anomalies, Issues, and the tie into Complaints.Manage and improve the processes under your team, including improvements that span across other Event teams.Create and deliver monthly/weekly metrics to show health of your processes and be able to tell the story of what is most important in your team.Assist Sr Manager with transformational insights into the data from the Event team.Provide direct People Management to a portion of the Event Management team.Provide leadership for Risk Event and Issue Management execution through established processes to mitigate risk to the company and ensure optimal customer outcomes.Partner effectively with Legal, Compliance, and other teams to understand exposure from breakdowns and control inefficiencies to provide guidance to the business.Influence the streamlining of interactions with the business operations and accountable executives to provide progress updates, timely escalation of obstacles, and process improvement opportunities.Coordinate, influence, and negotiate priorities with teams to ensure event goals/timelines are met; escalate when appropriate.Research and problem solve as needed to support the business.Develop a deep understanding of corporate risk management standards and utilize all Risk Management tools, playbooks, and systems.Train and develop others as necessary.Leverage data from Risk Events and Issues to derive insights that will influence risk mitigation.To be great at these things, a great candidate will have/be:Experience in Risk Event and Issue Management; you seriously understand the ends and outs of this space.An experienced, supportive people leader: You'll need to bring your heart and strategic vision to build on the inspiring, inclusive, engaged culture that helps elevate this team.Inspire others through your amazing interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication.You work better as a team; listening to others' opinions and collaboration is your strong suit.Build strong relationships and interact with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform, and influence outcomes.Ability to use your judgment and critical thinking skills to help the entire event team shine.React quickly, track multiple different events across the team, while still maintaining focus on what's important and when to escalate.Innovate frequently, offer ideas regularly; likes to brainstorm and solve puzzles.Act with the highest levels of integrity in all circumstances and bring commitment to being well-managed in all dimensions of work.Demonstrate excellent time management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic, complex environment.Location:
