Recovery Support Specialist II

The Recovery Support Specialist II (RSS/II) must be experienced in the health and human services field and have served as a Peer Specialist/Recovery Support Specialist for at least one (1) year. In addition to providing recovery support services and serving as a consumer advocate, RSS II works in a leadership role, mentoring and coaching fellow peers, facilitating groups, and developing and implementing recovery plans to assist clients in pursuing their recovery goals.As identified, RSS II provides hands-on instruction with activities of daily living, life-skill, and wellness coaching and includes case management activities as required. This position reports to the Director of South-Central Peer Services. The RSS in this position would also be assigned to a caseload and provide ongoing case management support, in addition to facilitating some skill-building groups.This position is located in New Haven and community-based, so the applicant will need to utilize their own car to travel to individuals’ homes and provide services within the home or community.
