Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

This position oversees the daily operations of plant accounting and is responsible for significant portions of the balance sheet, including but not limited to fixed assets, long-term debt, other deferred assets and liabilities, and net assets. Incumbent applies rigorous financial analysis to inform operational or strategic decision making related to Capital Investments; liaises with various Health System and Campus departments and UCOP; creates the annual Depreciation Expense, Interest Expense, and Capital-Related Cash Flow budgets; prepares financial reports and analyses for property, plant and equipment; ensures proper accounting treatment of all PP&E transactions; enforces necessary controls over all PP&E transactions; ensures the proper recording of long term debt and coordinates regular debt due diligence activities; and works with internal staff and state authorities to obtain and administer grant awards for Health System programs. Incumbent plans, organizes and directs assigned Property Accounting staff to provide efficient and effective performance, oversees the maintenance of the detailed asset sub-ledger system.
