New Position - Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Director
Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare
is located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley - a region best known for its natural beauty - in the charming city of
Staunton, Virginia . We provide trauma-informed psychiatric residential treatment to adolescent males who are experiencing complex emotional, behavioral, and educational difficulties. Our residential programs are specifically designed for youth with psychiatric disorders and co-occurring intellectual disabilities. We also specialize in working with young men who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. We are a 42-bed facility with a program that prepares these young men for return to a home, a less restrictive environment, or to independent living. Our primary focus is on encouraging constructive change and personal growth, learning positive ways to get appropriate attention, improving behavior choices, developing a sense of responsibility for actions, learning problem-solving skills, and developing thinking patterns that support positive relationships.
In early
Fall 2024,
we will be opening a
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
at our former off-site group home location in Staunton, with the selected
Program Director
candidate starting as soon as possible. Patient criteria for the PHP will not be as strict as that of the residential treatment facility. The ideal candidate must be a licensed clinician (LPC or LCSW) and must be passionate about creating something from the ground up. Workdays will be Monday thru Friday, approximately 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Candidate Requirements :
Master's Degree in a human services field
Licensed with LPC or LCSW
A minimum of one-year recent experience with appropriate population
Hold a current Driver's License with a clean driving record, preferred
Qualifications:
Demonstrated leadership, organization, planning, supervisory, and administrative skills
Demonstrated knowledge of health information management procedures
Exceptional interpersonal skills
The ability to focus on solutions and not problems
Must be articulate, assertive, and comfortable navigating tense or stressful situations
Have strong verbal and written communication skills with a variety of different stakeholders.
Job Duties:
Participates in development and implementation of clinical services, groups, health services, and behavior management program
Participates in development of education, leisure activities, meals, and overall facility schedule
Maintains up-to-date unit program schedules and handbooks
Serves as the acting supervisor for all PHP staff and holds staff meetings on a regular basis to discuss complex plans, outline new goals and objectives, review problem areas, and disseminate administrative information
Intervenes in crises situations to promote growth and reduces dysfunctional pattern of behavior
Provides consultation to licensed and un-licensed therapist for current caseload; reviews and signs notes for un-licensed therapists
Demonstrates sound clinical judgment and communication skills for managing out-of-control resident/patient behavior and assists staff to do the same
Investigates incident reports and allegations made by residents/patients and proactively works toward resolution of issues negatively impacting milieu
Physical Requirements:
Exert physical requirements to lift and maneuver objects and medical records; this includes kneeling, bending, reaching, pulling, crouching, pushing up to 50 pounds, and lifting up to 20 pounds
Successfully complete and pass all components of Handle With Care & Verbal De-escalation Crisis Intervention Training
Effectively perform facility approved First Aid and CPR techniques
