The Lead Platform Engineer is responsible for driving platform strategy and support for the Private Cloud infrastructure services environment. This includes performing design analysis, creating and maintaining documentation, planning, testing and implementation. This role requires experience and product knowledge in the areas of server virtualization, storage, networking, operating systems, and automation.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
Perform design analysis, documentation, and planning for strategic IT initiatives/solutionsProvide technical design guidance, governance and support to platform engineering teamsEngage external vendors when needed to review standard methodologies, architecture and design proposals, and solve complex problemsActively engage in strategic goals for Private Cloud engineering, the department, and the organizationCreate and update technical/architectural/strategic documentation in support of the Private Cloud infrastructureProvide design and Senior engineering level escalation technical support to platform teamsCollaborate with other teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processesProvide input and follow-through on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environmentEnsure delivered solutions enable infrastructure agility, scalability, and resilience to support required product needs throughout product lifecycleMaintain and enhance platform configurations to meet the demands and requirements of our customersProvide immediate support for production issues related to areas of expertiseProvide support for off-hour / weekend implementation and Disaster Recovery tests as requiredAuthor system documentation and supporting documents to ensure transparency of design to minimize future maintenance costsDeliver targeted business outcomes by participating in the technical decision-making processAnalyze changing business requirements to determine impact and optimal solution regarding defining the future state technical architectureFollow established DTCC requirements, principles and models that guide technology decisions for the enterprise (standard processes)Apply knowledge of technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to contribute to the decision-making processMonitor metrics to ensure system performance meets requirementsEnsure alignment to the governance, standards and best practices established by DTCCAlign risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; advances appropriately

Talents Needed For Success:
Minimum of 6 years of related experienceBachelor's degree preferred
Additional Qualifications:
Strong background in server virtualization (primarily VMware) planning and designStrong background in storage technologies (block, file, object) planning and designWorking knowledge of networking (layer 2 and layer 3 connectivity)Working knowledge of automation and orchestration at an Enterprise levelFamiliarity with Operating Systems (i.e., Windows, UNIX, LINUX) a plusHighly motivated, self-starter who can support multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
