Job Summary
Saint Gobain Research North America’s Life Sciences Filtration Technologies team is searching for a talented entry level Applications Engineer to join their team. The Application Engineer works closely with customers to understand their filtration goals and challenges, introduce product portfolio, offer product recommendations, and assist with application development and troubleshooting. This role will be located at the Saint-Gobain North America Research Center, collaborating with the Life Sciences R&D teams and Competency Research Laboratories. The Filtration portfolio covers markets and applications such as medical devices, biopharma, cell and gene therapy, diagnostics, and semiconductor manufacturing.Essential Functions
Engage with customers and provide technical expertise to address customer challenges, explain our products and technology, and assist with application development.Use filtration technical expertise to optimize filter geometry, connectivity, and media specification to support product selection within existing portfolio or custom solution.Perform research and evaluation of existing and new technologies and applications to strengthen and expand the filtration portfolio.Design and carry out in-house testing as part of product performance evaluation, method and application development, evaluation of customer inquiries and troubleshooting.Design and carry out competitive product benchmarking and communicate findings to product development and product management team.Work with quality to troubleshoot and analyze complaints and differentiate between application and product-related issues. Aids in the investigation and timely resolution of quality complaints.Perform filterability trials to optimize product selection and sizing and provide summary reports.Develop and deliver technical content internally and externally including technical seminars, application notes, hands-on training, and product demonstrations.Required Qualifications
BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or other related fields.Hands-on experience in laboratory work is preferred.Company Summary
