By equipping the brightest minds with the best resources available, we provide an invaluable edge in real estate.We are searching for an experienced Senior Database Developer to join our team and help us build the next generation of Customer Relations Management tools at CoStar. We have the industry’s largest set of Commercial Real Estate property data, which lets us create innovative products while solving challenging data engineering problems, such as high-volume data ingestion, data cleansing, real-time modeling/publication, and high-performance, high-availability consumption of all this information.This position is in our Richmond, VA office and offers 2 days remote per week.Responsibilities
Designing, building, testing, and deploying scalable, reusable, and maintainable applications that handle large amounts of data.Taking full ownership of your work, from development and testing to eventual deployment and support in production.Collaborating with other engineers, product owners, designers, and leadership.Becoming a trusted team member in matters of technical architecture, design, and code.Advocating for evolution and improvement - both technical and non-technical - within our teams. Includes new tech, tools, and best practices.Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited, not for profit university or college3+ years of experience troubleshooting common database issues3+ years of experience in developing, implementing, and optimizing views, stored procedures, and functions using T-SQLAbility to analyze technical requirements and design new architectures, data models, and ETL strategiesExpertise in database design, complex T-SQL programming, performance tuning, and index analysisFacilitate discussions among database developers to exchange ideas and introduce new database technologiesA track record of commitment to prior employersPreferred Qualifications
Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies.Strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners)Hands-on experience with cloud-based relational and non-relational databases such as S3, DynamoDB, or ElasticSearchFamiliarity with designing data engineering solutions using C#, .NET Core, and Web API to support data integration, transformation, unit testingExperience developing and managing data streaming solutions using platforms such as Apache Kafka and Databricks, ensuring real-time data processing, high availability, and scalabilityWhat’s in it for You
