Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack Kafka

As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.Job responsibilitiesExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. Strong expertise with demonstrable experience in building mission critical systems using Java is a must.Proficiency in using Kafka is a big plus. Expertise in Avro design, AVRO schema registry, partitioning of Kafka topics, exception handling, Kstreams, KSQL will help you to be productive and contributing to critical deliveries from day one.Demonstrated proficiency in setting up and evolving the AWS infrastructure of our web application as we move from private to public cloudProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Knowledge in the API design sessions and selection of design patterns that are selected for use by the team. Experience building scalable Rest APIs, knowledge of GraphQL, is needed. Technical documentation of service API (using Swagger)In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsPractical cloud native experiencePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
