We are in search of an HPC data storage engineer who will be responsible for the cluster's file and data storage systems and provide support on-site within a secure environment during normal business hours. AMERICAN SYSTEMS is building the next generation of high-speed analytics needed to protect our nation, and the environments needed to support them. We need you to join us on the ground floor.As an HPC Data Storage Engineer and member of our select team, you will:Apply comprehensive knowledge of HPC and conventional storage technologies, comprised of high-speed multi-petabyte Lustre file systems, high performance storage arrays, JBODs, and tape libraries.Join us at an exciting time as we introduce next-generation technologies.Be part of a group that provides game-changing capabilities to the nation.Receive a robust benefits package that includes our Employee Stock Ownership Plan!A week in the life of an HPC Data Storage Engineer:Manage where data is stored.Capacity planning and management, performance management, metrics reporting, storage quotas, policy enforcement, hardware management and tuning.Interface with HPC users to identify potential performance improvement strategies.Remotely assist a counterpart located at an alternate site as needed.Job Requirements
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and three or more years of job related experience.Current TS/SCI Clearance.Demonstrated knowledge monitoring and administering parallel filesystems such as Lustre, BeeGFS, GPFS, etc.Experience deploying and administering data storage systems (SAN, NAS, tape archives).Demonstrated knowledge of building, configuring, and administering production Linux computer/storage systems.Practical experience scripting in Bash, Perl, Python, or similar languages.Experience deploying and managing SAN infrastructure.Working knowledge of networking concepts and practices.Knowledge of or experience with hardware and software security practices.Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT II/III and Red Hat Computing Environment (RHCSA).
